Gajar ka Halwa (Carrot Halwa)
Carrot is probably one of the only gifts of nature that is rich in more than one form of Vitamin, Carrots complete your body’s requirement of vitamins B, C, D, E and K, while the carotene gets converted to Vitamin A later. It is no wonder that a plate of heartily made ‘Gajar ka Halwa’ is to die for. So try this Recipe as it is also rich in vitamins
Ingredients:-
- 1 kg juicy orange carrots
- 2 litre milk
- 400-500 gm sugar
- elaichi powder
- cashews chopped
- saffron few flakes
- 1 tbsp ghee
Recipe:-
Peel and grate carrotsAdd in a heavy bottom pan.
Add ghee and fry for 10 min.
Put milk,Boil till thick, stirring occassionally.
Once it starts thickening, stir continuously.
Add sugar and cook further till thickens.
Add elaichi powder and nuts.
Stir on low heat till the ghee oozes out.
Serve hot, decorated with a chopped almond or pista.
