Recipe for Lentil and bottle gourd soup
Ingredients for the lentil soup:-
- 1/2 cup toor daal ( or any lentil of ur choice)
- 1 cup bottle goud ( cut into thick pieces)
- 1 tomato ( cut roughly)
- 1 tspn ginger ( grated)
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tspn Turmeric powder
For tadka or tempering
- 1 tblspn ghee
- 1/4 tspn cumin seeds
- 2 green chili slit
- 1/4 tspn asafetida
- 1/4 tspn red chilli powder
For garnishing:-
Coriander leaves ( chopped)
Recipe:-
- Wash the lentil properly
- Add all the ingredients for the soup together in a pressure Cooker
- Cooke it on medium slow heat till 4-5 whistle
- Cool it and take out in a bowl
For tempering:-
- Heat ghee in small pan
- Now add cumin seeds, asafetida, green chilli and red chilli powder.
- Turn off the heat and add it to the soup.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with ur choice of bread or rice.
You can add chopped onions and chopped garlic too when tempering.
